Welcome to the webpage for Project 0028-0208, Rehabilitation of Bridge Nos. 03395 & 03396, Route 2 WB & EB over Route 85, in the Town of Colchester.
A Virtual Public Information Meeting (VPIM) was held for the project on March 19, 2024. The recording of that event can be accessed at the CTDOT Virtual Public Information Meeting Video Library.
The purpose of the project is to extend the service life of Bridge Nos. 03395 and 03396 by addressing the structural deficiencies, areas of advanced deterioration, and ultimately bringing the bridges up to a state of good repair while also minimizing impacts to Route 2 traffic above and Route 85 traffic below the bridges.
Right-of-way impacts associated with the proposed project are not anticipated.
Construction is anticipated to begin Spring 2026 based on the availability of funding. The estimated construction cost for this project is approximately $14,500,000. This project is anticipated to be undertaken with 80% federal funds and 20% state funds.
