The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is hosting two public information meetings for the I-84 Danbury Planning and Environment Linkages (PEL) Study in June and July. Members of the public are invited to learn more about the study and share feedback about recommended projects and alternatives that are aimed to alleviate congestion and improve safety.

“The purpose of the I-84 Danbury Study is to address long-term needs of the Interstate 84 corridor by reducing congestion and improving the mobility of people and goods in greater Danbury,” said Connecticut Department of Transportation Project Manager Kevin Burnham. “The I-84 Danbury team will be sharing results from the study, including the recommended range of alternatives and potential breakout projects. We encourage the public and local community use this opportunity to share feedback and ask questions regarding the study.”
Spanish and Portuguese speaking study team members will attend and participate at the in-person open house. The virtual public meeting will be hosted on Zoom and have live English-language captions as well as real-time audio translation in Spanish and Portuguese. A question and answer (Q&A) session will immediately follow the online presentation, which will be recorded. Instructions on how to provide comments and ask questions during the Zoom meeting will be provided at the beginning of the meeting. The virtual public meeting recording will be posted following the event on the I-84 Danbury Project YouTube channel and CTDOT’s virtual public meetings playlist.
Additional language assistance may be requested by contacting the CTDOT Language Assistance Call Line (860) 594-2109. Requests should be made at least five business days prior to the meeting. Language assistance is provided at no cost to the public and efforts will be made to respond to timely requests for assistance.

Individuals with hearing and/or speech disabilities may dial 711 for Telecommunications Relay Services (TRS). Members of the public can submit comments and questions during the two-week public comment period following the meetings.
