“This project will improve pedestrian safety by installing dedicated turn lanes, reducing the number and length pedestrian crossings, and connecting the existing sidewalks on Route 99 to address the gap in the pedestrian network within the project limits,” said Connecticut Department of Transportation Project Manager David Mancini. “We encourage the public to attend this meeting to share their feedback with the CTDOT project team to incorporate into the design.”
Right-of-way impacts are not anticipated.
Construction is anticipated to begin in spring 2027, based on the availability of funding, acquisition of rights-of-way, and approval of permits. The estimated construction cost is approximately $6 million. This project is anticipated to be undertaken with 80% federal funds and 20% state funds.
