The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) will conduct a virtual public information meeting concerning the replacement of Bridge No. 06680 carrying Route 219 over an unnamed brook in Granby on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at 6:00 p.m.
The public information meeting is being held to provide the public and local community the opportunity to offer comments or ask questions regarding the proposed project. The meeting will take place on Zoom, and registration is required. A question and answer (Q&A) session will immediately follow the presentation, which will be recorded. For instructions on accessing the meeting and ways to provide comments and ask questions, please visit https://portal.ct.gov/DOTGranby55-148
“The project upgrades the bridge with a new box culvert, headwalls, and wingwalls—improving fish passage and better controlling water flow,” said Connecticut Department of Transportation Project Manager Francisco Fadul. “We encourage the public to attend this meeting to share their feedback with the CTDOT project team to incorporate into the design.”
Right-of-way impacts associated with the proposed project include temporary construction easements on the properties to the north and south of the bridge. A drainage right of way is anticipated on the south abutting property. Both properties are owned by the State of Connecticut.
Construction is expected to start spring 2027. The estimated cost is $2.1 million, with 80% Federal funds and 20% percent State funds.
