The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) will conduct a virtual public information meeting concerning the replacement of Bridge No. 04426 carrying Gager Hill Road over Merrick Brook in Scotland on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at 7:00 pm.
The public information meeting is being held to provide the public and local community the opportunity to offer comments or ask questions regarding the proposed project. The meeting will take place on Zoom, and registration is required. A question and answer (Q&A) session will immediately follow the presentation, which will be recorded. “The purpose of this project is to address the deterioration and improve the safety of the bridge with a replacement structure that meets all current design standards,” said Connecticut Department of Transportation Project Manager Michelle Rame. “We encourage the public to attend this meeting to share their feedback with the CTDOT project team to incorporate into the design.”
Right-of-way impacts are associated with this project will take place on private property and will consist of temporary construction easements for access, grading, and water handling, as well as a slope easement for safety and support of the roadway.
Construction is anticipated to begin in 2027. The estimated construction cost for this project is approximately $2.7 million with 80% federal funds and 20% state funds.
