9/06/2023

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that the start of work to install signs on various state routes in District 2 will begin on October 15, 2023. This project will install new or replace existing retro reflectorized sheet aluminum regulatory and warning signs, and refresh pavement markings at existing unsignalized state owned and maintained single lane, higher crash risk, public roadway intersections. The objective of the project is to lower the future potential of crashes at the identified intersections.

At each intersection identified, this project will double up on advanced intersection warning signs on both sides of the roadway on each approach of the uncontrolled state roadway. This project will also double up advanced “Stop Ahead” signs, stop signs, and red retroreflective post delineators for stop signs on both sides of the stop-controlled state or town roadway. This project will also refresh the painted stop bars on stop-controlled state or town roadways. This work is scheduled to begin on or around October 15, 2023, with an anticipated completion date of May 14, 2024.

CTDOT Project No. 0172-0507 was awarded to Discount Fence of CT, LLC at a cost of $375,997.60 on July 18, 2023, and is scheduled to be completed May 14, 2024. This project is administered by CTDOT Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 2 in Norwich.
