The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing the closure of Route 147 between West Street and Route 157 beginning October 9, 2023, weather permitting, due to construction work. A 10-week detour is required to facilitate the proposed work.
The purpose of the project is to repair the retaining wall that is supporting Route 147, replace the associated guiderail system, and to repair any compromised drainage.
DOT Project No. 0081-0095 was awarded to Spazzarini Construction Co., LLC of Enfield, CT on May 18, 2023 and is scheduled to be completed by December 18, 2023. This is an Emergency Declaration project administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction - District 1 in Rocky Hill.

Route 147 between West Street and Route 157 will be closed from October 9, 2023 to December 18, 2023, weather permitting.
Southbound traffic will be detoured onto Route 66 East, then onto Route 157 South, and finally onto Route 147 South.
Northbound traffic will be detoured onto Route 157 North, then onto Route 66 West.
