The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing the start of work at various pin and hanger locations will begin on April 3, 2023.
The project consists of repairing and replacing pin and hangar systems on certain bridges located in Cromwell, East Hartford, Litchfield, Middletown, and New Haven. This project will also consist of repairing and painting steel underneath the bridges, as well as replacing the bituminous wearing surface and bridge joints on top.
DOT Project No. 0170-3551 was awarded to Rotha Contracting Company, Inc.at a cost of $5,413,828.30 on December 28, 2022 and is scheduled to be completed November 25, 2024. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 1 in Rocky Hill.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
There will be lane closures on Route 9 Southbound from New Exits 23B to 23A Monday through Friday 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., along with Saturday through Sunday 6 p.m. to 9 a.m.
There will be lane closures on Route 9 Northbound from New Exits 29 to 30 Monday through Friday 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., along with Saturday through Sunday 5 p.m. to 10 a.m.
There will be lane closures on I-84 Westbound from Exits 54 to 57 Monday through Friday 7 PM to 6 a.m., along with Saturday through Sunday 6 p.m. to 10 a.m.
There will be lane closures on I-91 Northbound from Exits 22S to 23 Monday through Friday 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday 7 p.m. to noon, and Sunday 8 p.m. to 4 p.m.
There will be lane closures Monday through Friday 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., along with Saturday through Sunday on the following Routes:
- Route 8 Southbound from Exits 41 to 42 in Litchfield
- Route 17 Northbound and Southbound from Route 9 to South Main Street in Middletown
- State Road 500 Northbound (SR500/TR-7) Route 6 to Governor Street in East Hartford
- I-91 Northbound from Exit 6 to 8 in New Haven
- I-91 Southbound/TR823 from I-91 Southbound to Route 9 in Cromwell
