The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing a lane on Interstate 95 Northbound will need to closed during nighttime hours beginning April 30, 2023 to facilitate construction work associated with the I-95 Interchange 74 Project.
One lane on I-95 Northbound will be closed from 8:00 PM until 6:00 AM (Sunday through Thursday) beginning April 30, 2023, and will extend into the foreseeable future. The project team will be completing rumble strip removal, existing median barrier removal and temporary barrier setup, and installation of drainage. Motorists are advised that this lane closure may cause traffic delays.
The purpose of the project is to correct the vertical geometry of I-95, replace the I-95 bridge over Route 161, and construct new on and off ramps at Exit 74. DOT Project No. 0044-0156 was awarded to Manafort Brothers, Inc. of Plainville, CT on January 31, 2023 at a cost of $148.3 million.
