The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Interstate 91 North and South in Middletown from the Meriden/Middletown town line to the Middletown/Cromwell town line, including both Exit 20 ramps and the rest area starting on Tuesday, July 25 to Thursday, August 31 to Wednesday, September 20, 2023. The project DOT01710498CN “E & E1” consists of milling and resurfacing a 4.66-mile segment of Interstate 91 North and South in Middletown.
This project is scheduled to begin milling on Tuesday, July 25 to Thursday, August 31, 2023, by Rafferty. The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to begin on Sunday, July 30 to Wednesday, September 20, 2023, by Tilcon Inc.
No work will be performed during the Labor Day.
This project is included in CTDOT’s 2023 Vendor Resurfacing Program.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
Motorists can expect lane closures on Interstate 91 North and South in Middletown from the Meriden/Middletown town line to the Middletown/Cromwell town line including both Exit 20 ramps and rest area. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone. The night work schedule for this project is 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., Sunday – Thursday.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
