The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a bridge maintenance project will be performed on Route 8 northbound and southbound in Bridgeport.
The project consists of hollow concrete repairs to Bridge No.03546 on Route This project is scheduled to occur the evening of Monday, June 12, 2023, to the morning of Friday, July 14, 2023.
No work will be performed from the morning of Friday June 30, 2023 through the evening of Tuesday, July 4, 2023 due to the holiday.
The work is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2023 bridge maintenance program to support state forces with bridge repairs and is being performed by Mohawk Northeast.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 8 northbound between the Exit 2 (Lafayette Square) off-ramp and 0.2 miles past the Highland Avenue Overpass and southbound between the Exit 3 off-ramp (Main Street) and 0.2 miles past the Highland Street Overpass in Bridgeport. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is from 7:30pm to 5:30am. (Monday evenings through Friday mornings).
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
