Week-long Closure of Strawberry Hill Avenue over I-95 in Norwalk

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that construction work associated with the Rehabilitation of Bridge No. 00061, Strawberry Hill Avenue over I-95, will close between Beacon Street and Norden Place in East Norwalk, beginning 5 a.m. on Monday, April 18, 2022. This closure will remain in effect through 6 a .m. on Monday, April 25, 2022.

The Rehabilitation of Bridge No. 00061, Strawberry Hill Avenue over 1-95, Project No. 102-363, consists of the bridge and roadway rehabilitation. The closure is necessary to facilitate the grading and paving of Strawberry Hill Avenue on the bridge. DOT Project No. 102-363 was awarded to McNamee Construction Corp. at the cost of $8,129,273.35 on March 22, 2019, is scheduled to be completed in 2022 and is administered by the Office of Construction, District 5, New Haven.

CLOSURE INFORMATION

Strawberry Hill Avenue will be closed in both directions between Beacon Street and Norden Place from Monday, April 18, 2022, at 5:00 AM through Monday, April 25, 2022, at 6:00 AM. The closure is required to perform construction operations for paving and grading. All local property access will be maintained.

DETOUR INFORMATION

Motorists should follow posted signs directing traffic to the detour route utilizing Tierney Street to East Avenue and Fitch Street to East Avenue. Please see attached detour map.
