Route 2 East Exit 28N Off Ramp to I-395 North Will Be Closed for Milling and Paving

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the closing of the Route 2 East Exit 28N Off Ramp leading to Interstate 395 North in Norwich for milling and paving work to repair the roadway. It will begin at 8 p.m. May 9, 2022 and end before 6 a.m. May 10, 2022.

The project consists of resetting catch basin tops, surface patching, crack sealing, ultra-thin bonded PMA, installation of pavement markings on I-395 from Exit 5 to Exit 18. 

DOT Project 0172-0494 was awarded to Tilcon Connecticut Inc. at a cost of $6,635,913.00 and is scheduled to be completed June 1, 2022.  This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 2 in Norwich.

LANE CLOSURE AND DETOUR INFO:

 

The Route 2 East Exit 28N Off Ramp to I-395 North will be closed overnight from May 9, 2022 at 8 p.m. until May 10, 2022 at 6 a.m. The work will be located at the bottom of the ramp as it merges onto I-395 North.

 

Traffic will be detoured along Route 2 East then take Exit 29, then left onto the New London Turnpike, then left onto Town Street and finally take a right onto the -395 North Exit 14 On Ramp.
