The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a bridge replacement project will be performed on Route 8 Southbound over Reynolds Bridge Road, Thomaston.
The project consists of superstructure replacement of Bridge No. 01729. In addition, emergency repair work is necessary to repair the pavement in the Stage 1 construction zone. Currently, Route 8 southbound is restricted to one open travel lane. It will be necessary to close the roadway during a night shift and detour traffic while the repair is done. This closure is scheduled to start on Thursday November 10, 2022 at 9:00 p.m. and be completed Friday November 11, 2022 7:00 a.m.
LANE CLOSURE INFO:
Motorists can expect delays and the road closure with detour. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the detour. The night work schedule for this project is 9:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. (Thursday through Friday). Starting November 10, 2022 through November 11, 2022.
The work zone for other contract work is behind precast concrete barrier and operates during the regular work schedule for this project which is 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Monday through Friday).
