The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that bridge inspection work will be performed on Route 130 (Stratford Avenue) in Bridgeport. Route 130 between Water Street and Kossuth Street will be closed to traffic during the inspection process. This project is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, weather permitting. The closure and detour are necessary to facilitate bridge inspection services on the Stratford Avenue moveable bridge.
The work schedule for this project is 8:30 a.m.to 3 p.m. A detour route will be established around this location and will be in effect during the scheduled work hours only.
DETOUR INFORMATION:
From west of the bridge, motorists shall travel north (left) on Water Street which changes to Housatonic Avenue, then east (right) on East Washington Avenue, then south (right) on Noble Avenue, then east (left) on Clarence Street, then south (right) on Kossuth Street, then east (left) back to Stratford Avenue. From east of the bridge, travel north (right) on Kossuth Street, then west (left) on Clarence St, then north (right) on Noble Avenue, then west (left) on East Washington Avenue, then south (left) on Housatonic Avenue which changes to Water Street, then west (right) back to Stratford Avenue.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work area.
