The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 137 in Stamford.
The project consists of milling and resurfacing 3.82 miles of Route 137 in Stamford. This project is scheduled to occur Monday, May 10, 2021, through Friday, June 4, 2021. The milling segment of this project is anticipated to be performed on Monday, May 10, 2021, through Friday, May 21, 2021. The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to be performed on Sunday, May 23, 2021, through Friday, June 4, 2021.
No work will occur during the Memorial Day weekend from Friday morning, May 28, 2021, through Monday, May 31, 2021. Work will resume on Tuesday, June 1, 2021.
This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2021 Vendor Resurfacing Program.
Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 137 from Interlaken Road to the New York State Line. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The night work schedule for this project is 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Sunday night through Friday morning).
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to remain alert, drive cautiously, and to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
