CTDOT projects will preserve the pavement condition on I-95 in the northbound and southbound directions in Guilford, Route 1 in Branford, and Route 135 in Fairfield.

NEWINGTON, CT – The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) Office of Engineering is developing plans to rehabilitate the pavement on I-95 in the northbound and southbound directions in the town of Guilford, Route 1 in the town of Branford, and Route 135 in the town of Fairfield.

The purpose of the project is to preserve the pavement condition. The project involves rehabilitating the pavement on I-95 in the town of Guilford between mile point 57.28 (the Guilford/Branford town line) and mile point 60.65 (Bridge No. 00206 over State Street), on Route 1 in the town of Branford between mile point 57.07 (Route 139) and mile point 59.24 (the Branford/Guilford town line) and on Route 135 in the town of Fairfield between mile point 0.00 (Route 1) and mile point 2.58 (Route 58).

The present schedule indicates that the design will be completed in early 2022, with construction anticipated to start in spring 2022 assuming acceptance of the project and availability of funding. This project will be undertaken with 100 percent state funds.

It is CTDOT's policy to keep the public informed and involved when such projects are undertaken. It is important that the community share its concerns with the CTDOT to assist in the project's development. A public informational meeting will not be conducted for this project as its scope is considered routine maintenance.

If anyone has any questions or comments on this project, contact Mr. Matthew R. Vail, P.E., Principal Engineer, at (860) 594-3274 or by e-mail at matthew.vail@ct.gov. Please make reference to State Project No. PP173-0008.
