The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that work to replace an existing attenuator will be performed on I-84 eastbound at Exit 51 in Hartford. Work is anticipated to occur on Wednesday, September 29, 2021, and Thursday, September 30, 2021.
Motorists can expect right lane closures on I-84 eastbound at Exit 51 in Hartford, between exits 50 and 52. The Exit 51 flyover ramp to I-91 northbound will be closed during this operation. The night work schedule for upgrading this attenuator is 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
Motorists will be detoured east along I-84 to Exit 52, to I-91 southbound and continue to Exit 29a to the Whitehead Highway. Traffic will then be routed around the Pulaski Circle and back to I-91 north.
