The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing scheduled ramp closures at the I-395 northbound Exit 13B off-ramp in Norwich, beginning on December 6, 2020, and continuing through December 18, 2020. Traffic will be detoured to Exit 14. The ramp closures will start at 7:00 PM and be removed by 6:00 AM.
The closures are necessary to facilitate the replacement of existing three-cable guiderail with new guiderail, the addition of an impact attenuation system in the exit gore area, and grading and slope protection along the ramp where required. Temporary concrete barriers will be installed along the right shoulder of I-395 northbound and along the left shoulder and gore area of the Exit 13B ramp to allow for the safe completion of this work.
Traffic will be detoured to Exit 14. At the end of the ramp, motorists will be directed to take a left onto West Town Street (SR 642) to Routes 2 west and 32 north in Norwich.
