Nighttime Bridge Repairs on I-95 in Stamford; Lane Closures Required
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that nighttime bridge repairs will be performed on five bridges on I-95 (northbound & southbound) in Stamford beginning September 3, 2013.
The bridge work consists of bridge joint replacement on the bridges listed below. This work is scheduled to occur periodically Tuesday, September 3, 2013 to Friday, September 27, 2013.
· Bridge No. 00026 over Greenwich Avenue and Rippowam River (7.30)
· Bridge No. 00027 over SSR 493 (Washington Blvd) (7.47)
· Bridge No. 00028 over Atlantic Street (7.67)
· Bridge No. 00029 over Canal Street (7.69)
· Bridge No. 00031 over Elm Street (8.20)
This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2013 bridge maintenance program to support state forces with bridge repairs and is being performed by Costello Industries.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
Motorists can expect lane closures on I-95 (northbound & southbound) between Exit 7 (Greenwich Avenue) and Exit 9 (Seaside Avenue) in Stamford.
Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Sunday through Thursday evenings).
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
