Stage Construction Activities for the Rehabilitation of Mill Hill Road over Route 2 in the Town of Colchester Scheduled To Begin March 21, 2011

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that stage construction will begin March 21, 2011 on Bridge No. 03388, Mill Hill Road over Route 2, in the Town of Colchester. 

The project consists of the rehabilitation of the existing bridge and associated roadwork at the approach areas to the bridge.

Route 2

Eastbound: Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. and on weekends 6 a.m. 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 6 a.m. following morning. 

Westbound: Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 a.m. and on weekends 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. following morning.

Mill Hill Road:  Reduced roadway width for first stage of the project and temporary signals with alternating one-way traffic during the second stage.  Additional notification will be provided before the second stage with signals is in place

DOT Project No. 0028-0196 was awarded to Baier Construction Company, Inc. of Bloomfield, Connecticut at a cost of $1,848,039.00 on December 2, 2010 and is scheduled to be completed in November 2011.
