NEWINGTON, Conn.-State Transportation Commissioner Joseph F. Marie announced today that a Bridge Maintenance project will be performed on

I-84 (eastbound) from Exit 8 to Exit 10, in Newtown.  This project is scheduled to take place on or about Tuesday, July 8, 2008 and continue through Thursday, July 10, 2008. 

Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.  The regular work schedule for this project is 9:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. (Tuesday – Thursday evenings). 

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work area.
