NEWINGTON, Conn. - Acting Transportation Commissioner Emil H. Frankel announced today that a Bridge Maintenance project will be performed on I-84 (eastbound) between Exits 18 and 23, in Waterbury.  This project is scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 8, 2008 & Saturday, March 15, 2008. 

Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.  The regular work schedule for this project is 9:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. (Saturday evenings).  There will be alternating lane closures while the work is being performed.   

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
