NEWINGTON, Conn.- State Transportation Commissioner Ralph J. Carpenter announced today that a Milling and Resurfacing project will be performed on Route 6, in Chaplin/Hampton.  This project is scheduled to begin on or about Monday, October 8, 2007 and continue through Thursday, October 25, 2007.

The project will take place on Route 6 in Chaplin from just east of Route 198 to the Hampton Town Line and in Hampton from the Chaplin Town Line to West Old Route 6.

Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.  The regular work schedule for this project is 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Monday - Saturday).  No work will take place on Sundays.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work area.
