The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that Eversource will be performing a tree removal operation on Route 478 in Warren. This project is scheduled to occur on Wednesday, January 15 and be completed on Thursday, January 16, 2025, and again on Monday, January 27, and be completed on Tuesday, January 28, 2025.
To ensure the safety of the public, CTDOT is having Eversource remove dead, diseased, and decaying trees. Additionally, trees and vegetation that have grown into the clear zone, which is the safety space along the side of the roadway, are also being removed. This work helps save lives in the event of a crash or vehicle leaving the roadway.
LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO
Route 478 will be closed starting Wednesday, January 15 to Thursday, January 16, 2025, and Monday, January 27 to Tuesday, January 28, 2025. Traffic will be detoured Bliss Road to Hopkins Road to Curtis Back to Route 45. Traffic control signing patterns and flaggers will guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this work is weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area. No work will be performed around any scheduled holidays.
