The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a tree removal operation will be performed on I-84 eastbound at Exit 46 and westbound at the Exit 45 in Hartford. This project is scheduled to occur on Monday, February 3 and be completed on Wednesday, February 5, 2025.
To ensure the safety of the public, CTDOT is removing dead, diseased, and decaying trees. Additionally, trees and vegetation that have grown into the clear zone, which is the safety space along the side of the roadway, are also being removed. This work helps save lives in the event of a crash or vehicle leaving the roadway.
LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO
Motorists can expect ramp closures on I-84 eastbound at Exit 46 and westbound at Exit 45 from Monday, February 3 to Wednesday, February 5, 2025, during the hours of 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., Monday-Wednesday.
Eastbound Exit 46 Detour
Traffic will be detoured west on Sisson Avenue, Straight onto New Park Avenue, right onto Kane Street to access I 84 east and west.
Westbound Exit 45 Detour
Traffic will be detoured to I-84 west Exit 44 turn right or left on Kain Street to access I-84 east and west.
Traffic control signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone. Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area. No work will be performed around any scheduled holidays.
