The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that tree removal for construction access road and utility test pits will be performed on Route 159 in Windsor. The tree removal work is scheduled to occur on March 24 and the utility test pits are scheduled for April 1, 2025. The project, 0164-0242 consists of Rehabilitation of Bridge No. 06574 over the Mill Brook.
CTDOT Project No. 0164-0242 was awarded to Dayton Construction Company, Inc at a cost of $1,484,875.00 on January 9, 2025, and is scheduled to be completed November 1, 2025. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 1 in Rocky Hill.
LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO
Pleasant Street will be closed at Route 159 on March 24 with a detour utilizing Route 159 and Route 75 to support tree clearing operations. In addition, on April 1, 2025, there will be a one-way alternating traffic pattern on Route 159 to conduct utility test pits. Traffic control signing patterns and flaggers will guide motorists through the work zone.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
