The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing work to improve pedestrian, school crosswalk signs & pavement markings in Eastern Connecticut starting on Monday, June 16, 2025.
CTDOT Project No. 0172-0538 was awarded to Discount Fence of Connecticut, LLC. at a cost of $1,050,781.02 on May 9, 2025, and is scheduled to be completed November 14, 2025. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 2 in Norwich.
This project will systematically replace existing pedestrian and school crossing signing and associated subplates at uncontrolled state-owned and maintained crossing locations with new warning signs and post delineators at approximately 275 locations in District 2. The project will also refresh all crosswalk and yield lines for uncontrolled intersection and midblock crosswalk pavement markings. These improvements are being performed to help improve visibility and safety of pedestrians on State roadways.
