Rehabilitation of Bridge I95 over Stubby Plain Brook in Milford

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing the continued rehabilitation of bridge carrying I-95 over Stubby Plain Brook in Milford (Bridge No. 06798).

The purpose and need for the project is to address the structural deficiencies and deterioration of the existing structure which is a single round corrugated steel pipe culvert 259-feet long and 6-foot diameter with headwalls/wingwalls at the outlet, an inlet and topped with 24-feet of fill and bituminous concrete. The structure was rated and considered structurally deficient and in poor condition due to deterioration of the culvert and wingwalls including scaling and spalling.

CTDOT Project No. 0083-0268 was awarded to PJF Construction Corp. at a cost of $3,223,317.50 on December 16, 2024, and is scheduled to be completed October 31, 2025. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 3 in New Haven.

 

LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO

There may be various lane closures on I-95, from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., Monday through Sunday. Traffic control signing patterns, flaggers, municipal police officers will guide motorists through the work zone as needed. Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in the area.
