UPDATED: Milling and Resurfacing on Route 140 in Ellington

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 140 in Ellington. This project is scheduled to occur on Thursday, April 17 and be completed on Sunday, April 27, 2025. The project DOT01710506CN “G” consists of milling and resurfacing a 3.04 -mile segment of Route 140 in Ellington from the driveway to Hall Memorial Library to Route 83 (Somers Road). This project is scheduled to begin milling by Rafferty Fine Grading on Thursday, April 17 to Tuesday, April 22, 2025. The resurfacing segment of this project by Galasso Materials is anticipated to begin on Wednesday, April 23 to Thursday, April 27, 2025.

This project is included in CTDOT’s 2025 Vendor Resurfacing Program.

 

LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO

Motorists can expect lane closures of Route 140 in Ellington from the driveway to Hall Memorial Library  to Route 83 (Somers Road). Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone. The work schedule for this project is from 6:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Sunday to Friday.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
