The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing a crash attenuator repair will take place on Route 8 south on the Exit 26 off-ramp in Naugatuck on Tuesday, June 10, 2025.
This project is being performed by State Forces.

Motorists can expect the Exit 26 south off-ramp for Route 8 to be closed while work is being performed. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The work schedule for this project is 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The detour for this closure is as follows: Route 8 southbound to the Exit 25b off-ramp, make a left at the bottom of the ramp onto Route 63 New Haven Road, make a left at the traffic light onto Service Road 709 South Main Street, follow South Main street to intersection where South Main street and the exit 26 off-ramp meet at Maple Street.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
