The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing the implementation of an alternating traffic pattern on Route 140 near Newell Hill Road beginning March 31, 2025, weather permitting. The purpose of this project is to increase the sight distances on Route 140 (Crystal Lake Road) for the Burbank Road intersection. The project is needed to improve the existing roadway geometry in the area of Newell Hill Road and Burbank Road to improve sightlines.
CTDOT Project No. 0047-0121 was awarded to Guerrera Construction Company, Inc. at a cost of $6,154,385.50 and is scheduled to be completed by November 28, 2025. The project is being administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction - District 1 in Rocky Hill.
