Wrong Way Driver Detection on I-84 Eastbound and Westbound, Exit 11 Ramp in Newtown

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing a wrong way detection installation will take place on I-84 east and westbound at Exit 11 in Newtown. This project is scheduled to occur on Thursday, March 14 and be completed on Friday, March 15, 2024.

LANE CLOSURE INFO

Motorists can expect lane closures on Exit 11 of I-84 east and west in Newtown. Traffic will be detoured as follows:

  • For I-84 eastbound Exit 11, Take Exit 13 to River Road to Oakdale Road. Take Exit 13 on-ramp westbound to Exit 10 to Church Hill Road to Berkshire Road to Wasserman Way.
  • For I-84 westbound Exit 11, take Exit 10 to Church Hill Road to Berkshire Road to Wasserman Way.

Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone.

The night work schedule for this project is 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., Monday through Friday.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
