Wrong Way Detection Installation: I-84 West and Eastbound at Exit 43 In West Hartford

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing a wrong way detection installation on I-84 west and eastbound at Exit 43 in West Hartford starting Thursday, April 11, 2024, 6:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

This work is performed by CTDOT Electrical Sign Installation, District 1 and TAPCO representatives.

LANE CLOSURE INFO/DETOUR INFO

Motorists can expect exit ramp closures on I-84 west and eastbound at Exit 43. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will guide motorists around the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is from 6:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., Thursday. Traffic looking for I-84 westbound will be detoured Exit 41, make a left off the ramp onto South Main Street, then take a left onto New Britian Avenue and another left onto Quaker Lane South to get back to I-84. Traffic looking for I-84 east bound- will be detoured Exit 41 right off-ramp onto South Main Street, turn left onto New Britian Avenue and another left onto Quaker Lane South to get back to I-84.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
