Pavement Preservation on Route 83 and 148 in Killingworth and Chester

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that the 2024 pavement preservation program on Route 83 and Route 148 in Killingworth and Chester will begin on April 15, 2024. As part of the 2024 pavement preservation program, the purpose of this project is to improve the existing wearing surface and extend the life of the pavement on Route 83 and Route 148. The asphalt rubberized chip seal treatment is for roadways that are in structurally good condition with pavement surfaces that are also in fair to good condition. The project consists of surface patching, crack sealing, and placement of asphalt rubberized chip seal.

CTDOT Project No. 0170-3706 was awarded to All States Construction, Inc. at a cost of $1,875,078.00 on February 28, 2024, and is scheduled to be completed September 4, 2024.  This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 2 in Norwich.

LANE CLOSURE INFO

There will be alternating one way traffic on Route 83 and 148, Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.- 6:00 a.m. and on Saturday and Sunday from 6:00 p.m. -10:00 a.m.
