The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing a nighttime closure of Route 8 south at Exit 27 in Naugatuck for bridge repairs beginning Thursday, May 23 through Friday, June 7, 2024. The project consists of repairs to Bridge 00592B in Naugatuck at Exit 27 southbound. This ramp will be reopened each morning at 5:30 a.m.

Motorists can expect limited access to the Route 8 southbound Exit 27 off-ramp to Maple Street. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone with a detour to Route 63 Exit 26. The night work scheduled for this project is 7:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., Monday – Friday, weather permitting.
No work to be performed on the Memorial Day holiday.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
