Extended Closure of I-95 Southbound Exit 75 Entrance Ramp in East Lyme

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that, to facilitate construction work associated with the I-95 interchange 74 improvements in East Lyme, the on-ramp to I-95 southbound (at Exit 75) will need to be closed for an extended duration of time from May 12 through June 30, 2024. This closure is necessary to facilitate construction activities for retaining wall 112. Motorists are advised to follow the posted detour. The purpose of the project is to correct the vertical geometry of I-95, replace the I-95 bridge over Route 161, and construct new on and off ramps at Exit 74.

CTDOT Project No. 0044-0156 was awarded to Manafort Brothers at a cost of $148,000,000 on February 1, 2023.

DETOUR INFO

To access I-95 southbound, motorists should continue to Route 161, turn left onto Flanders Road, take a right onto Frontage Road, and follow signage to the I-95 southbound entrance ramp.

** Please note that the end of this closure may change at any time based on weather or resources. **
