Department of Administrative Services Commissioner Michelle Gilman announced today that it has been honored with a Geotab® Innovation Award for Excellence in Safety.
The Geotab Innovation Awards recognize organizations that are leading the way in their use of connected vehicle technology and data insights to drive better outcomes for business, people and the planet. The winners are scored and selected based on their implementation and performance compared to similar fleets. A new category, the Geotab Awards of Excellence (Safety Champion and Maintenance Champion) is based on nominations by Geotab partners, customers and industry peers, and recognizes fleets for performance, management, innovation and impact.
DAS Fleet Operations leases more than 3,600 vehicles to support the business requirements of over 90 Connecticut state agencies and departments. On average, the fleet vehicles log around 30,000,000 miles a year, on a 24 hours a day, 7-days-a-week basis. Incorporating Geotab telematics into the fleet has spurred significant innovation by the fleet team to find new ways to increase safety, efficiency and cost savings while reducing vehicle miles traveled and greenhouse gas emissions for the customers who lease their vehicles.
"Giving our agency partners the tools to keeping employees, vehicles, and the traveling public safe while on the road is a top priority,” said DAS Commissioner Michelle Gilman. “Following the rules of the road helps keep costs down and, in the long run, saves the taxpayers money. Congratulations to the fleet operations team on this well-deserved recognition.”
The awards were presented at Geotab Connect 2024 in Las Vegas — a premier event for the fleet industry focused on connected vehicles, data intelligence, AI and sustainability.
