1. What do you do?

I am the Digital Equity Program Manager for the Commission for Educational Technology at DAS!

2. Why do you work for the State of Connecticut?

This was an incredible job opportunity. I read the job description and thought, yup, that’s me. I felt like the interview panel felt the same about me in my interview. I have worked in quite a few public sector positions in the State of New Jersey/CT, and this position has taken all of my past experience and put it into one place.

3. What is your favorite part of your job?

My favorite part of my position is the in-person meetings. I get the chance to connect with individuals who work to support the community and see how they are and learn from their experiences. As a librarian in a Public Library, I saw first-hand how many people need computers and the skills to use them safely and effectively. I value talking to people about what they do.

4. What are some of your favorite activities outside of work?

Hanging out with my husband and son. I’m a new mom, and I can't tell you how much I enjoy going new places with this tiny human. Last weekend we went to Stepping Stones Museum in Norwalk, and it was an adventure! We saw a huge dinosaur, played with water and air tubes, and more generally just ran around a space where he could touch everything!

5. Where is your favorite place that you have traveled?
Past: Egypt (over 15 years ago)

Present: Hawaii. There were incredible beaches, snorkeling, and hiking.

6. What would you tell someone who is interested in working for the state

Find a job that is in line with what you want to do or in a department you want to be a part of. So far, the state has been a great place for me.

7. Where is your favorite place in Connecticut

It would have to be the Shops at Mystic or Walnut Beach/Silver Sands Boardwalk.

8. If you could choose one superpower, what would it be, and why?

No idea. If I had to make a Deathly Hallows choice, I would say the invisibility cloak.

9. Who inspires you and why?

I am a big fan of Robin Arzon (A Peloton instructor), and pretty intrigued by Ava Duvernay. They are both brave, changemakers, and incredible storytellers.

I should note, my favorite Peloton instructor is Kendal Toole, Emo rides are my fav!

10. Tell us your favorite fun fact.

Idk if it’s my favorite. It comes to mind first. Hamilton was written as a mix tape after Lin Manuel read a book about Alexander Hamilton. I just have so many questions.
