1. What do you do?

I currently have the pleasure of being part of the effort to centralize workplace accommodation requests under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) for in scope agencies through DAS. We are implementing an intricate uniform process through a very talented team of dedicated specialists. As no two ADA accommodation requests are the same, I help guide the ADA specialists and HR business partners through any escalated or difficult interactive discussion.

2. Why do you work for the State of Connecticut?

Born and raised in CT, I am always looking for ways to give back to my state. An amazing way to further that goal is by working on a program that supports agencies providing statewide services. I can confidently say that working for the state has been the most fulfilling, challenging, and rewarding endeavor of my career.

3. What do you love about your job so far?

I enjoy leading a team of subject matter experts who can problem solve matters efficiently and effectively. ADA accommodations are meant to provide relief to disabled employees along with minimal impact to agency operations.

4. What are some of your favorite activities outside of work?

My absolute favorite thing to do is to play with my two sons, Miles and Jackson. Ages 3 and 1.5 there is never a dull moment with these two goofballs. Outside of that, I am an avid sports fanatic and follow the New York Giants, Knicks, Yankees and UConn Huskies religiously.

5. Where is your favorite place that you have traveled?

Japan. A country very rich in historical culture that integrates tradition and innovation. There is an energy and cleanliness that is unlike anywhere else I have been.

6. What would you tell someone who is interested in working for the state?

Jump with both feet. Pursue any opportunity that you feel would be a good fit, as working for the state can transform your career trajectory.

7. Where is your favorite place in Connecticut?

Storrs, CT. Home of the 2x defending National Champions UConn Huskies. Every time I step foot in Storrs, I create a core memory. UConn is where I met my wife, made my closest friends, and took my sons to their first live basketball event.

8. If you could choose one superpower, what would it be, and why?

Super speed! Being able to do things in a blink of an eye would be quite handy. I could travel anywhere at any time and complete my entire “honey do” list during halftime or any commercial break really.

9. Who inspires you and why?

Thurgood Marshall. One of the most influential public servants of the 20th century. I hold the values he preached very close to me to this day. It truly reflects the goodness in us when we serve others with compassion and empathy. We may not always agree with each other or with the message being told, however, if we understand one another we can move towards a common goal.

10. Tell us your favorite fun fact.

PAW Patrol is my favorite show. I have seen every episode, special, and movie to date. They are always thinking of new and creative adventures for this pack of pups. I will likely still be watching long after my kids outgrow it.
