    The Enterprise Networking Services (ENS) group, in conjunction with other Agencies, establishes the Network domain of the Enterprise Wide Technical Architecture Standards on network implementations and approved vendors.

  • Metropolitan Area Network

    The Enterprise Network Services (ENS) group builds and supports the State of Connecticut Metropolitan Area Network which connects 18 large sites in the greater Hartford area with metro Ethernet connections between 1G and 20G speeds. This connectivity serves 35 state agencies with access to the State’s Data Centers located in geographically diverse areas of the state.

  • Network Management and Support

    The Enterprise Network Services (ENS) supports numerous network infrastructures. The ENS support methodology consists of configuring network infrastructure devices with management protocols and through the use of centralized servers collect alerts, alarms, events and traps that report the network status.

  • Networking Services (DNS, DHCP)

    The Enterprise Network Services (ENS) group supports the provisioning of key networking services including Domain Name System (DNS) and Dynamic Host Control Protocol (DHCP) for customers on both the state’s intranet and in the external facing application domains.

    The Public Safety Data Network (PSDN) is an ultra-high-speed fiber optic data network that serves as a dedicated transport infrastructure and interconnectivity pathway for public safety and government applications and services throughout the state.

    The Enterprise Network Services (ENS) group in partnership with the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection (DESPP) and the Connecticut Education Network (CEN) provides private and public network connections to Public Safety, Municipal and Educational customers within the State of Connecticut via the Nutmeg Network. The ENS group serves as operators, management and planners for a number of State of Connecticut associated networks.

    The Enterprise Network Services (ENS) group provides Wide Area Networks (WAN) connectivit to all Executive Branch Agencies via BITS intranet infrastructure and content filtering and security support for entire State Intranet and access to the Internet.
