The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) will conduct a hybrid public information meeting concerning Exit 46, Route 15 Improvements in New Haven and Woodbridge on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. at the New Haven Fire Training Academy at 230 Ella Grasso Blvd. in New Haven. Inclement weather date is Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. Meeting facility is ADA accessible.
This meeting aims to inform the community about the proposed project, gather feedback, and answer any questions.
This project plans to install of acceleration and deceleration lanes on Exit 46, which will improve safety, mobility, and connectivity on Route 15, and the immediate connections with Route 69 and Route 63. The project also proposes to relocate the existing Route 15 northbound on-ramp to a new loop ramp.
Right-of-way impacts associated with the proposed improvements consist of one full and two minor acquisitions.
Construction is anticipated to begin in the spring 2028 based on the availability of funding, acquisition of rights of way, and approval of permit(s). The estimated construction cost for this project is approximately $90 million. This project is anticipated to be undertaken with 80% federal funds and 20% state funds.
