Welcome to the webpage for State Project No. 0055-0145, Replacement of Bridge No. 04525 carrying Simsbury Road over West Branch Salmon Brook in Granby.

CTDOT is hosting an in-person public informational meeting concerning the replacement of Bridge No. 04525 carrying Simsbury Road over West Branch Salmon Brook in Granby, on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at Granby Town Hall at 15 North Granby Road in Granby. The meeting location is ADA accessible.

This meeting aims to inform the public about the proposed project, gather feedback, and answer any questions. A question and answer (Q&A) session will immediately follow the presentation.

The purpose of the project is to replace the existing 111’-0” long two span bridge with a new 105’-0” single span bridge which will address the current condition of the bridge, substandard roadway width and geometry of the existing bridge. The new bridge will also improve the overall hydraulic performance and replace the existing substandard bridge and approach rail system with one that meets current safety standards.

Right-of-way impacts are associated with the proposed improvements including partial takes, slope easements, temporary construction easements and rights.

Construction is anticipated to begin spring 2027. The estimated cost for this project is approximately $7.3 million, with 80% federal funds and 20% state funds.
