The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) will conduct a series of virtual public information meetings concerning the installation of horizontal curve signing on local roads throughout Connecticut.
The virtual public information meetings are being held to provide the public and local community the opportunity to offer comments or ask questions regarding the proposed projects. The meetings will take place on Zoom, and registration is required. A question and answer (Q&A) session will immediately follow the presentation, which will be recorded.
“Improved horizontal curve delineation is recognized nationally as a low-cost proven safety countermeasure to prevent fatal and serious injury crashes on roadway curves,” said Connecticut Department of Transportation Project Manager Claire Sylvestre. “We value the public’s feedback on these important safety projects and encourage them to attend a meeting.”
Enhanced horizontal curve delineation may be beneficial when the curve radius is sharp, there is limited sight distance to and around the curve, and/or there are unexpected geometric features within the curve, such as an intersection or change in the curve radius.
Proposed Locations:
- District 1 (Central Connecticut)
- District 2 (Eastern Connecticut)
- District 3 (South Central and Western Connecticut)
- District 4 (Northwestern Connecticut)
