Project 0173-0520 Webpage

Welcome to the webpage for Project 0173-0520, Horizontal Curve Warning Signs on Local Roads, in District 3.

A virtual public informational meeting for the project will be held on Tuesday, December 12 at 6:00 p.m.

The purpose of this meeting is to provide the community an opportunity to learn about the proposed project and allow an open discussion of any views and comments concerning the proposed improvements. A Q&A session will immediately follow the presentation.

The goal of the project is to reduce the number of fatal and serious injury crashes on curves located on locally-owned and maintained roads.  Enhanced horizontal curve delineation may be beneficial when: the curve radius is sharp; there is limited sight distance to and around the curve; or there are unexpected geometric features within the curve, such as an intersection or change in the curve radius.  Improved horizontal curve delineation is recognized nationally as a low-cost proven safety countermeasure.

Right-of-way impacts associated with the proposed project are not anticipated.

Construction is anticipated to begin Summer 2024.  The estimated construction cost for this project is approximately $630,000. This project is anticipated to be undertaken with 100% Federal funds.

The proposed roads included in the project can be viewed here:
