The meeting is being held to provide the public and local community with an opportunity to offer comments or ask questions regarding the proposed project. A question and answer (Q&A) session will immediately follow the presentation. A set of minutes will be taken. For additional information, please visit http://portal.ct.gov/DOTWindsorLocks0165-0512.
“This project represents an improvement for the residents of Windsor Locks in terms of roadway and pedestrian safety enhancements to Route 159, and addresses the broader, regional mobility goal of accommodating a second track on the Hartford Line,” said Connecticut Department of Transportation Project Manager Jonathan Kang. “We encourage the public to attend this meeting to share their feedback with our project team to incorporate into the design.”
Minimal right-of-way impacts associated with the proposed project are anticipated.
Construction is anticipated to begin winter 2026 based on the availability of funding, acquisition of rights of way, and approval of permit(s). The estimated construction cost for this project is approximately $5 million. This project is anticipated to be undertaken with 100% state funds.
