Bradley International Airport Announces JetBlue to Enter the ‘Gateway to New England’ with New Service Starting November 17, 2010

            Governor M. Jodi Rell and Commissioner Joseph F. Marie announced today (April 19, 2010) that JetBlue Airways will begin service out of Bradley International Airport (BDL) effective November 17, 2010.  JetBlue will launch twice daily nonstop service from BDL to both Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport (FLL) and Orlando International Airport (MCO).

“This is a big win for all of us – our travelers, our business partners and Connecticut’s economy,” said Governor M. Jodi Rell. “Our citizens tell us they want more travel options and JetBlue is just the partner to help us do just that. More and more, Bradley is leading the way in creating the solutions our customers demand.”

Waldron, Airport Administrator of Bradley International Airport.  “For many years, the public has been asking, ‘When is JetBlue coming to Bradley?’  As of November, that will become a reality!”

        Bradley is New England’s second-largest airport, and will be JetBlue’s 63rd destination and its first destination in Connecticut.  Its customer base covers the entire Northeast including Western Massachusetts, New York and New Jersey.  According to the most recent economic impact analysis, Bradley contributes $4 billion in economic activity to the state of Connecticut and the surrounding region, representing $1.2 billion in wages and 18,000 full-time jobs.
