The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that Emergency Retaining Wall Repair will be performed on SR 434 in East Haddam. This project is scheduled to occur on Thursday, April, 10 and be completed on Friday, October, 3, 2025. The project 0200-0047 consists of stabilizing the existing retaining wall, installing barrier to protect the parapet, and temporarily address drainage issues along this retaining wall.
An Emergency Declaration was issued for CTDOT Project No. 0200-0047 and awarded to Arborio Construction Company at an estimated cost of $500,000.00 on April 10, 2025 and is scheduled to be completed October 3, 2025. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 2 in Norwich.

SR 434 (Hopyard Road) will be closed starting Thursday April 10, 2025 to Friday, October 3, 2025. Traffic will be detoured onto Haywardville Road (SR 434) West, then onto Route 82 East, and back onto Hopyard Road. Traffic control signing patterns will guide motorists around the work zone.
