Bridge Work on Route 8 North and Southbound in various towns in Connecticut

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing bridge work will be performed on Route 8 north and southbound in Bridgeport, Trumbull, and Shelton. This project is scheduled to occur on Monday, June 23 and be completed on Monday, September 22, 2025. This project ensures the bridge remains in a state of good repair.

The work to be performed will be between I -95 and exit 12 B on Rt 8 North and South bound in Bridgeport, Trumbull, and Shelton. Bridge Numbers include: 568, 2787, 2799, 2761, 2760, 2734, 5271, 5272, 3776, 3774, 3773, 3768, 3765, 3764, 3761, 3762, 3560, 3559, 3557, 3558, 3551, 3552, 3553, 3548, 3549, 3550, 3547A, 3547B, 3542A, 3542B, 3541A, 3541B, 3540A, 3540B, 3539A, 3539B, 3538, 3537, 3536, 3535

3554, 3555, and 3556.

This project is being performed by Hammonasset Construction

 

LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO

There will be various lane closures on Route 8 north and southbound from Monday, June 23 to Monday, September 22, 2025. from 8:00 p.m to 5:30 a.m. Traffic control signing patterns and State Police will guide motorists through the work zone.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
