The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing reduced vertical clearance for motor vehicles on Route 82 over the Connecticut River (East Haddam Swing Bridge).
The contractor will be completing the installation of an overhead gantry (moveable crane) on the westerly portion of the bridge on May 18, 2023. The horizontal beam of this gantry will temporarily reduce the vertical clearance on the bridge, motorists are advised that the vertical clearance on the bridge will be reduced to 14’-6” while the gantry is in place.
Vehicles exceeding 14’-6” in height should use the alternate options to cross the Connecticut River.
